Shot in Phokai, Turkey on September 12, 2006
Motivation: This picture was taken at night on the narrow and historical streets of Aegean sea village Phokai (Foca) that has the roots of Genoa civilization in the history. I always like taking pictures there, as I love the tissue and the mood of Phokai streets and its Aegean architecture. I set my tripod when I saw these three children talking to eachother and playing on this dark street. First aim was not the children but the shadow trio both on the ground and the wall. Actually first they wondered what I was doing there but I gave them enough time to loose their attention and the harmony of these three kids with these shadows had a great affect on me suddenly. I didnt have enough time for long exposing because they were moving so much but as one of them had a broken arm, I wouldnt wait for a calm moment, it was a chance. Therefore I decided to choose a biggest aperture to get enough light and it was also ok for me to keep them in focus as possible as I can in the darkness.

Trés beau travail de contrast ,l'ombre et la lumière semble jouer ici tout autant que les enfants...

i could sit there and stare at that narrow street for hours but yet could not possibly notice the 'shadow trio' both on the wall and on the ground. Or see/use it as a subject or else. The odd coincidence of it all is that three kids happening to be there at that particular time. This could be called 'lock' if you haven't mentioned your actual aim, and if I hadn't known you personally. good lock
